After shopping, enter actual prices so next week’s estimates get sharper. Print the list or keep it open on your phone in the aisle.
How the budget math works
Your budget is the cap for the week or month. Planned total sums estimated prices for every item on the list. Remaining subtracts estimated costs for items still to buy and actual prices for items already marked bought, so the number updates as you shop.
Templates drop a starter set of common items you can edit or replace. Category totals sit above the list so you can see whether produce, meat or snacks are eating the budget. Print the page for a paper shopping list with prices still visible.
Shopping tips
Build the list at home when you are not hungry. Sort by category to match how most stores are laid out. After checkout, type a few actuals so next week’s estimates get closer to reality. If you are over budget before you leave, cut snacks or swap a premium item for a store brand before you go.
